Well I thought I was a pretty good size
search engine advertising customer paying out about $8000 a month for
advertising from multiple companies and sites I own. Apparently MSN doesn't want my
business and won't want to work with most of the people reading this article.
Google has nothing to worry about in the near future from the likes of MSN when you are talking about small and medium size
business accounts. As I reported several weeks ago I was going to sign up for MSN and their
search engine advertising program. I was going to report on how well MSN's new service stacked up against Google Adwords. Well how about this--they don't want my business. I am too small. Here is the official "dear John" letter MSN sent me BEFORE we even started dating.
"Hi Bob,
My name is Regina Toscani and I am responding to your request for information about
advertising on the MSN network. Please be aware to advertise on our network, MSN requires a 20K/month minimum spend and a 75K/year CPC minimum spend for our Search program. After reviewing the information that you have provided on the Contact Us Form, your
advertising budget falls below our minimum spend but in line with Overture's spend requirements. I would suggest contacting Overture for your
advertising needs at
www.overture.com.
Please contact us in the future if your
advertising budget meets our minimum spend requirements and I would be happy to further assist you. Thank you for your interest in
advertising with MSN.
Regards,
Regina Toscani"
Sure was a polite "hit the door Jack" letter, aye? Little do they know that tens of thousands of
business owners get access to this site every month. Hope I can spread the good word about MSN.
